The Luck of American Presidents: Assassinations, Attempts and Deaths in Office
2009
Gouache and graphite on paper
22 x 10 inches

I used numerology to calculate the 'universal life number' of each American president based on their birthdate and then assigned values to various unlucky events (assassinations, assassination attempts, demise) experienced during office. The resulting 'unluckiest' to 'luckiest' life numbers are listed from top to bottom.

Things I Think You Should Know
2008
Acrylic and graphite on vellum
8.5 x 14 inches each

Twenty maps, each representing a single day throughout 20th century American history. Events occurring in different years on the same calendar day are positioned on the map pointing to their location with a brief description. Events include concerts, deaths, riots, plane crashes, births, movie premiers and significant sporting events--all the trivia never seen in the same place at the same time.
The series was included in The Errant Garrison group show "Very Unhelpful" (August 15–31, 2008).
