And the 7-foot 8-inch spaceman said, 2009

One segment of the elaborate Closing Ceremonies featured an "extraterrestrial visitor" to the Games. While searching for an actor to play this role, the casting team realized they needed an extraordinarily tall individual in order for a single man to be visible to the entire crowd. On the last night of the Olympics, a spaceship hovered above the Coliseum, flashing its lights amidst a laser show as the spectators waved complimentary flashlights from their seats. Then the fog machine fog cleared and a spaceman in a silver spacesuit could be seen standing on top of the peristyle. At that moment a booming (prerecorded) voice uttered the words, "I've come a long way because I like what I've seen."
